Kodak New Logo is Snappy

From 1971 the yellow box graced our photography film and sundry products. With more than a nod towards digital Kodak repositioned and launched their new logo at the beginning of 2006.
The CEO claimed ‘It’s a timely change, which will help us rethink and rediscover Kodak as a category brand.’ Do you think that it has worked?
Certainly the pre 2006 logo looks very dated (a shame it is on all my boxes of colour film so I’ll have to stick to digital). The concept of a ‘category brand’ to encompass a range of products, as well as corporate identity, seems to work.

They are on the ball at ‘underconsideration’ and ‘brand new‘ with a series of before and after picture of new logos and identities. They also have clear views about cnet’s new generic font and the loss of the quirky n in net.
